McCoy Tyner
McCoy Tyner is one of the most prestigious jazz pianists and composers of the present time. With a musical style influenced by Art Tatum, Thelonious Monk and Bud Powell, McCoy Tyner blends technique with lyricism and harmonic innovations to perfection. He enjoys the status of a living legend especially thanks to his collaboration as a pianist in the band of saxophonist John Coltrane, where he started at the age of just 17. He will be playing with his trio and there will be a special guest appearance by Joe Lovano on saxophone. This concert is included in the programme for the Loulé International Jazz Festival.
