International Show Jumping Competition (Vilamoura)
Vilamoura Riding Centre (Loulé)
International Show Jumping Competition (Vilamoura)
The main aim is to affirm the position of Vilamoura, the Algarve and Portugal as a high quality and differentiated tourist destination. This type of event attracts a high class of tourists and visitors to whom, following on from the equestrian event, it is important to present the other things that the region and the country have to offer, thus contributing to reducing the effects of seasonality. At present, there are three new show jumping rings with the most up-to-date surfaces in the world, and with room for 600 horses, showers and parking for about 200 trucks, with power and water points. Vilamoura is thus well suited for hosting international riding events and is aiming to contribute to attracting other equestrian events, ensuring the future sustainability of the sport. The event is organised by Equievents, established earlier this decade in response to the growing demand for services in the organisation of events in this area. In just a few years, it has already organised a number of National and International Show Jumping Competitions, the 11th European Horseball Championship, sport at Ovibeja, the Indoor Circuit of the Portuguese Equestrian Society, Galas and Equestrian Shows, among others.
