The Light, inside is an exhibition of the Caixa Geral de Depósitos Collection that will take place at Quinta da Fonte da Pipa, in Loulé. The show attempts to draw an itinerary that highlights a group of works and interventions by Portuguese artists that question the present significance of the place and its memories.
 
Forming part of the Art Algarve 2009 Programme, under the theme of “Tão Brilhante Como o Sol | As Bright As The Sun”, the exhibition presents works by Luisa Cunha, Filipa César, José Pedro Croft, Armanda Duarte, João Paulo Feliciano, Ricardo Jacinto, Jorge Queiroz, Bruno Pacheco and Rui Toscano. Three of the artists represented in the Collection, Luisa Cunha, José Pedro Croft and Armanda Duarte, were invited to produce site-specific projects for this venue.
 
This presentation of the Collection was conceived with special attention being paid to the place and its relationship with the works of the chosen artists. We do not seek to present a panoramic view of the Collection, but instead to see it as a field of possibilities, in which the context and the space help to foster another perspective on the works and the artists represented therein.
